iOS sequence
Four checks before opening the app
- 1Open in Safari. Use Safari if the installation instructions require it, and inspect the final domain.
- 2Read the prompt. Identify whether you are being asked to install an app, a profile or a configuration.
- 3Check the developer. Do not press Trust if the developer identity is unexplained or does not match.
- 4Inspect the app. Open the basic menus before entering any sensitive information.
Profiles and certificates
“Untrusted Developer” is a security warning
The warning means iOS has not trusted the identity that signed the app. Compare the developer name with the installation source. Do not follow instructions that disable protection or add unexplained profiles.
Common problem
The iOS app will not open
- Check your connection and set the device date and time to automatic.
- Check whether the profile or developer still appears in device settings.
- Remove a suspicious installation before trying another source.
- If you entered a password in a suspicious app, follow the account recovery steps.
